Miri is a coastal town in the fourth division of Sarawak. It was declared as a city in 2005 with many modern infrastructures and high rise buildings.

Miri is not only an oil-rich town but the scenery , nature and food must not be missed. One can find great nature to camp or hike such as Lambir Park , Batu Niah Caves and Mulu Caves. All of these are easily accesible by land and air. Mulu Caves is than an hour by flight and it was declared as UNESCO World Heritage site.

Since it is a coastal town, the stretch of town is lined with beaches. Activities like picnic, a stroll or even kite-flying along the clean beaches with wind in your hair. Children can be seen collecting seashells or just playing in the water. The rivers of Miri run into the the clear blue water of south China Sea.

Miri is famous for food based on the ethnicity the chinese food, Malays food Orang Ulu food. One can find all types of chinese food like fried noddles, dim sum, kueh chap and laks a. Malay food like nasi lemak, rendang,curry and roti canai are commonly available in any Malay coffee shops.
